Hi everyone. I'm sure this issue has been addressed somewhere in the forum before so forgive me if I'm resurrecting old news, but I'm somewhat midi challenged and this has me puzzled. Here's my situation: (For the record, I posted this in the Reaper/OS X forum first but after a long wait, I never really got too far. So I thought I'd post here and see if anyone might be able to help me.) I have an Imac with OSX. I'm using a motu 8pre firewire unit for my interface. I have my keyboard controller running via midi into the motu 8pre. It all works as it should with Digital performer 7. But I'm wanting to use Reaper. However, when I go into preferences>audio>midi devices, as the Reaper guide shows me, to set up the motu 8pre for midi, the motu 8pre is nowhere to be found. All it shows is "Midi Port" and "Sinc Port" and the option to enable or disable them...which neither does anything for my situation. How do I get this to work? I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the unsuccessful bumpage. - What other MIDI devices/ports do you have on that computer? (Just asking because if you have only the MOTU, that should be the one listed in MIDI Devices in the prefs - it should disappear when you disconnect/turn off the pre 8.) - What's your keyboard controller? If it has an USB port you could avoid the whole troubleshooting job by connecting it via USB (but depending on the keyboard make/model, you should disconnect any MIDI cable before doing that).
