Just wanted to share with you, I hope tomorow will be another day. Had 3 jobs to do today, I did nothing new compared to yesterday, no new installations, nothing and ... It started with a blank screen when I started the computer (the TFT screen just died), then no possbility to do any search in the workspace ("assertion ..."), then came the crashes, I think I had something like 20 or more PT crashes today ... Now I'm doing the mixdown of the big show I have to deliver tomorow and PT crashes now and then, even when nothing is touched. Of course I did all the troubleshooting, I've never seen that before ... I just wanted to share with you guys, sometimes it helps just to talk ... Pascal

sounds like your computer just went down the toilet. Is it on a UPS? Was there a power surge or something that could have tweaked it out and fried the monitor?

After you do all the usual trashing of prefs and reboot stuff I'd look at the memory next. Damage from a power spike could be almost anything--very hard to trace. Philip Perkins

Thank you for your input on my problems. I did not think about a bad RAM stick, I'll have a look. I will be working in the studio again in a few hours, I'll see if the problems are still there, I don't know what to hope .... Thanks for your time. Pascal

Could be a drive problem. Your boot drive maybe? The last time mine went down it took a couple of days to fully trash itself.

The system has been installed just 4 month ago ... but it could be possible. I'll also keep an eye on it. Thanks for your input. Pascal
