Hi All, Going to look at a 2001 Y-reg c70 T5 auto. The pictures look amazing. Great condition inside and out (as with most of these cars!) The thing is the volvo history is upto 29k and then nothing ! That was a few years ago as well !! The car is cheap and only 2 owners. Is there anyway of checking with Volvo HQ if this car has been seen since by them? Obviously not going to be sure which dealer specifically. Thanks IceBoy PS. I know history is everything....but is there every an exception ?!

I bought my 200,000 ex plod with only the current MOT certificate as 'history'. It's nice to have things on paper but as long as you can identify the major parts (belt changes) and that it drives well, sometimes having it all on paper doesn't mean a jot.

Service histories can be made up. I knew a bloke with a small sales business, he could get a stamped service history for any car in his lot. If you are interested get a HPI or the like done on it, if everything else seems ok make your own mind up about it. Always a good idea to get the belt changed anyway when you get a new car. Good luck

Hi, if the car has a been serviced by Volvo, record will be held on the Main dealer computer. Any dealer will have access to these records, irrespective of whether or not the book has been stamped.... Not withstanding the above i would expect the car does not have a main dealer history as, i for one always check the book has been stamped as routine proceedure when paying the bill!!.... Whether or not i would consider the car would depend on, mileage and time since last service, condition of the vehicle as a whole and most importantly a test drive.... Dont forget these vehicle go on forever but only if they are looked after....Any doubt, walk away.... Cheers jod Edit....also check the mot's for clarity of the milage...
