it is possible to do seamless branching in scenarist...but TFDVDEdit for PC would be a life saver...the way I do seamless branching is import the video per VOB ID - you have to make sure that the video and audio are same length in time and you'll be able to put the SM flag.... i agree with you - TFDVDEdit style seamless branching needs to be added in scenarist - it would save time...for a 5-figure program you would think, but then again the world isn't perfect

I've talked to Sonic's Tech Support about this whole Seamless Branching issue and he told me the guy who built and programed Scenarist (apparently only one programmer that did it) would have to completely rewrite the Interleaved Muxing Engine. But because Scenarist can author by VOBID you can make a type of seamless branch and achieve the same effect of a "real" seamless branch. and he went on to say ..."because of that, there really is no point to write that code." According to him, its a very hard task to do and not many people would use it in a DVD. He also said that (non HD Version of) Scenarist will most likely never support "true" seamless branching. Perhaps the HD Version of Scenarist will support it, I don't know. But that was straight from the Senior Tech guy's mouth.

yeah.. GM is right.. the gui for some versions actually has greyed out options for seamless branching (aka seamless multistory) but it was abandoned for the reasons above and the options were removed in the more recent versions. when doom9 comes back i'll ask if we can make the guide clearer.
