Its probably very close to the cut out point and the difference is down to atmospheric pressure/temperature taking it over the edge sometimes if you lower the boost maybe 1/2 psi it might be all you need . Is the ECU still controling the boost ? I have noticed this on 440 turbos , the indicated boost varies in different atmospheric conditions .

Hi J Glad you got the spring seats sorted and having driven the car again today, the improvement is clear to see....Your damaged seat was clearly the worse for wear, i did not think it could be worse than mine, which had nearly 20mm of movement but it was....!! Boost wise, Im sure the hose was the answer as on reflection the tiny diameter hose that was there would have exagerated the pressure to the actuator causing a larger opening that was needed, hence the continual drop to 6psi, really irrespective of the amount of boost passing thru the MBC... Anyway a hose change and you are flying... As Nick mentioned above, the density of the air will effect the ignition cut....The end of the panel gauge it supposed to be 14.7 IIRC.... Although it was not cold today, the air could well have been denser than such a time when (only a few i suggest) pulled 15psi out of there car with a stock ECM....There is no computer working out when to apply ignition cut, it is as a result of several factors, including knock and MAF sensor calculations...Therefore it cannot be said that fuel cut will occur.....HERE....The ECM does not read the boost pressure on the pre ME7 Turbos.... Im not sure what posts you have read but have a search on Pedro Fandango and BB54, both of whom ran uprated fuel pressure regulators...Try searching also for FSE fuel pressure regulators..... As i said to you on departing J, keep the boost low enough not to cause fuel cut, whilst i think the odd cut is good fun, continual ignition cut is not going to do your engine much good..lol BTW Chav valve sound fab.... Best Jod

Thanks man :P Yeah i am so happy now with the performance. I took my girl out when i got back and i put it in sports mode and i went thru long melford and floored it. She actually screamed when the turbo lag finished as we were going 30 anyway and it sunk us both back in our seats. Mmmm satisfying! :P Thanks Jod and im sorry if i delayed your day to day as you seemed to be under a fairly tight schedule. Thanks for fitting me in! :D Whoop i love my t5 now :D And cheers cam for the comment, ye man the question is fairly specific to the T5 model but i appreciate the read anyway :) Many thanks to all A very happy Juzzzzzzz :D
